So recently HNLU published vacancies for prof/asso/asst. A total of 53. Why ? That's a huge number for a tier 2 NLU. Is there something that's happening at HNLU that we are not aware of ? Is this an overcrowding?
Either they are expanding, or like NLUJ they got away with too many contractual positions for too long and someone has now cracked the whip.
Absolutely wrong move. I understand yearly requirement of 10-15 faculty. But 50+ is crazy ! I mean sure every NLU should expand. But a tier 2 NLU with a 50% domiciliary shouldn't be bringing in more faculty than all NLUs combined. This is becoming DU level of pathetic.
One of the reason is thaf HNLU has not able to fill the sanctioned positions for the reserced categories since ages. These are the vacancies which are piling up.
half of them would be reserved for domicile candidates which never get filled, effectively the vacancies are 25
That's still a large number for a tier 2. It has nothing to do with domicile.
Why? Are there no law graduates in Chhattisgarh interested in teaching?
Huge shortage of faculties at HNLU is the reason, lack of hiring and huge no. of reserved post for technical and niche subjects which go vacant always, seems like they dont want good professors just want to show that they are trying to recruit.
Exactly. This will only lower their own reputation. They already don't participate in NIRF. Now we all know what a scam it is, but still the NIRF is a good way to atleast gauge the standing of an institution.
