You are a fool who has no awareness of what's going on. True, Senior Designations have been an old boy's club for a long time, but it has been far more inclusive in the recent past, but while being so, has been given to a majority of deserving lawyers. There are two yardsticks to measure that: their fees vis a vis their counterparts (Eg: A Senior in Kerala HC may be charging much less than a Senior in SC) and the respect they command in their bar. Now, the last few senior designations especially after the SC judgements have conferred the silk on many, many underserving people. Just see how many briefs they have and how much they charge. Its peanuts. Nor do they command any respect. Yes, undeserving people have been designated before as well, and the new system did make the process far more transparent(which was much needed), but the new system also made far, far too many undeserving people get the Silk.

So know your facts before you say that some old boy's club has been shattered by an objective process. The old boys club has long been shattered and its got nothing to do with them or their offsprings crying. It has to do with the quality of the ones getting the silk. Pray tell me, if the old boy's club is crying, which you have no proof of, why is the bar in general, which has far too many 1st gen lawyers as well, unhappy with the same? Please don't come here and bark uncessarily with whatever is trendy. Get your facts straight first.

Nobody said that the ones you mentioned are undeserving..they are the most deserving, regardless of which college they are from. Its the other lot of people, who for obvious reasons cannot be named, are undeserving. A good way to check is to just see how much their fees are and how many briefs they hold, and their perception in the bar.

Nobody, not even any old boys club would look down upon anyone, whether from a nlu or not, 1st gen or not, deserving good person who got a silk.

Clearly, you know nothing! These are people who you think are "most deserving"--you must be joking! YOU run your mouth issuing certificates????? Who is deserving and who is undeserving????

Briefs are not the only indicator of success--You obviously are not aware about the practice of filing through juniors!

Fees; do you even know any senior in the last round of designations who charges more than 1 to 2 lakhs.

While it’s true that SC and DHC have recently designated many seniors, that’s not true for BHC. In Bombay, designations remain fewer and rarer. Typically, lawyers get designated in their late 40s, as opposed to Delhi where lawyers get designated in early 40s or even before. To maintain parity, shouldn’t BHC also be more liberal in its designations?
