Boss, you should see him in action in court. I'm a fan after watching him at the Karnataka High Court last week.

So much hate, why? Just because you cannot understand article?
If his arguments are a complex as his articles, will our judges understand him?
Adv Prakash Jotwani, have seen him appear multiple times before the ITAT in Mumbai
Yeah, its not gonna be the same since tri needed someone with an IDT bg.
Mr. Yogendra Aldak. Has exceptional clarity on the subject and has consistently been appearing before multiple high courts across the country.
Nobody in tax bar says so. The only person who would be designated soon is Mr. Saurabh Bagaria.
Got it. The non existent Calcutta tax bar says so.
In Calcutta High Court tax bar, who doesn’t?
Shashank Sharma- has his own practice in Delhi. Ex-LKS.
No shade on Bhakta, he's an outstanding attorney. However, he hasn't seen the face of a courtroom or a SEBI Tribunal in his entire professional career. Also, he's a capital markets attorney. Not tax.
Raamesh Ghosal is someone I believe has profound knowledge of taxation law and is likely to become a very prominent figure in the field in the coming years.
Says the existing seniors in the Kolkata tax bar. Best DT practice in HC besides the two prominent Senior Advocates.

My college batchmate Manish Kanth is also good (Direct Tax, ITAT & Bombay High Court)
It's more to do with his organisation change. In ELP, he did everything. Now in Trilegal, he's probably back to tax.
I think he is doing good work, including the Hinduja matter with Percy.
True. Jitendra appeared there in the appeal by revenue and Court issued notice in an issue in favour of assessee where even the earlier SLP by revenue were dismissed.
Saw him argue for straight 45 minutes at Bombay HC. He is good. The bench respected him.
Appeared recently before the SC in the 3(12) CTA matter. Ever since the Bench change, have seen a lot more of him in the HC.

Jitendra ▮▮▮ had given up tax for a while. Probably will restart in Trilegal. And he never appeared independently in major matters. Naresh is good but again, gave up tax long back.
Jitendra Motwani and Naresh Thacker in Mumbai deserve a mention surely.
Pratyush jhunjhunwala - Kolkata. Will become senior soon.
The OP’s post doesn’t say it is limited only to young practitioners.
He has created the biggest IDT firm in India and has trained and gifted many IDT lawyers to the bar.
Definitely one to watch out for. Loved his to and fro with ASG Venkataraman. The ASG couldn’t really respond to his points.
Dr. Dhruv Janssen-Sanghavi. I heard him today. He is an excellent orator and knows the subject in and out.

In Bombay: Nishant Thakker, Nitesh Joshi, Madhur Agarwal: likely to be the next tax seniors in Bombay. Bombay designates mid-late 40s or early 50s; early 40s is exceptional.
He doesnt practice due to health issues: very selective once in a while matters only but not available regularly and isnt even based in India any more due to medical treatments outside
Kamal sahwney

Nageshwar rao

Deepak Chopra

Vishal Kalra

Sachit jolly, now senior though

These are all seasoned tax litigators.
Mihir is not only an excellent lawyer, but also an excellent person. I have no seen many lawyers, who catch the relevant points as fast as him.
He declined the designation. So can't put his name in this thread. This thread is solely for young upcoming advocates.
And your thoughts are important because? Aren't you an anonymous rando commenting on LI?
dislikes are for the first person and not latter I am assuming. Vishal is solid
