Chief Justice Gavai's decision reported in the Press to reserve two Supreme Court of India Law Clerk positions for Bhutan Law Graduates is incorrect. Law Clerks assist Judges. Under the Indian Constitution, Judges must be Indian Citizens. As a corollary, their researchers must also be Indian Citizens. Under what power has Gavai decided this. The Chief Justice has no such power. And besides being completely illegal, the decision is also arbitrary and takes away a valuable resource from Indian Citizens.
On 14 May 2025, Gavai was appointed as the Chief Justice of India.
On 19 May, Gavai was in Mumbai.
In June 2025, Gavai went to the UK.
On 25 June, Gavai was felicitated at Amravati.
On 27 and 28 June, Gavai was felicitated at Nagpur.
Gavai was in Nagpur from 27 June to 3 July.
In first week of July, Gavai went to Mumbai.
On July 6, Gavai was in Kochi.
In the second week of July, Gavai went to Telengana.
In the last week of July, Gavai went to J&K.
On 2 August, Gavai was in Nagpur.
In the second week of August, Gavai went to Arunachal Pradesh.
On 17 August, Gavai was in Kolhapur.
In the 1st week of September, Gavai was in Nepal.
In the second week of September, Gavai went to Ranthambore.

None of the trips mentioned above were part of Gavai's duties as the Chief Justice. No wonder Collegium meetings are rushed, and no administrative reform in the Judiciary takes place.
A similar exercise for Chandrachud would be very illuminating.
Among the 620 orders available on the website, ThePrint found five cases in which the Lokpal granted prosecution sanction, with three of these orders involving bank officials.

What is puzzling to me, personally, is that they previously had Superbs (and Del HC has Camry Hybrid - previously had Superbs) - the backseats of which are far more superior than the 3-series'. Unnecessary on this count alone.
