Two things must be cleared: first, someone who speaks the truth is not a snake oil salesman, and second, that not every litigator earns 20L per hearing. Perhaps, if you were kind enough to read properly, or maybe knew how to, you wouldn't have made that comment. ▮▮▮

In a highly nepotistic field like law where both bar and bench is a huge hurdle for a new comer, It's extremely difficult and not everyone can be AMS or Salve.
I have seen many seniors in my subdivisional court who are only run of the mill average advocates however they can still finance their kids education in abroad and are rapidly purchasing real estate with their fees.
Y'know why?
Because majority of the advocates in India (it pains me to say this) are below sub-standard-
it takes them years to learn some proper etiquette, court kacheri are the only thing they are used to.
Ask them about some basic legislation's core principles or any provision- they'll fumble on spot and mix something up with their regional language to confuse you.
Hell i even saw the ACJM in court room having a high blood pressure just because the advocate in question before the learned judge was citing a judgment that was detrimental to his case (but he was so sure this would make him win), the judge kept giving a pitying look to the accused's family and ultimately adjourned the matter out of sheer frustration.
These same advocates are the ones who, if they wish to, can ultimately tidy up the case and get it completed if they followed the proper procedure and used every available remedy provided by law instead of focusing on getting a next date just to suck hearing fees from their clientele.
Yet there is one thing which they do right, buttering up the right people and getting dirty to have their work done, their ties with the local bar association also make them relevant, as such their names are also spread which in turn brings cases to them.
The ones that are at least serious with the profession and also are armed with the legal acumen, aptitude-- do tend to have it hard in the initial years, but as they progress their reputation and experience grow beyond what you can imagine.
No people don't earn that much, if your definition includes only the top 5% then don not use "almost all"
