I am 36 years old, was working as an in-house legal consultant for one of the real-estate companies and earning decent enough. I have a relative almost of my age, working as a sales manager in one of the real estate firms. We work in the same city, one day he expressed his intention to start a channel partner (real estate-broker) business with me. After researching the broker industry in Mumbai and considering the high returns through percentage after closing deals, it seemed to me fair enough and coming together of leading sales manager and legal consultant both from a real-estate companies seem to me to be perfect mix of leaders to have a partnership and start our own venture and scale it to unparalleled heights by using the expertise, skills and knowledge we possess. After considering all this, I left my reputed legal profession and joined a real-estate sales job with a view to gain expertise in sales and marketing for one year before starting our own venture. Now it's getting difficult for me to adjust in this industry, not because I am not able to do well in it, but because I feel that I have downgraded my life and profile for money, the kind of respect and company I use to have in my profession is missing, I am feeling myself as a misfit in this industry and I am sitting with less educated people with no class, wisdom and knowledge. kindly advise me that whether I should bear the brunt of my decision as the larger goals set by my relative and me, if accomplished will eventually make my decision look right and make me successful entrepreneur or shall I get back to my profession for the sake of respect, dignity, job security and climb my corporate legal ladder for stable career growth.
