On one hand he is telling his associates that they are replaceable by AI and on the other he is not providing flexibility in the age of AI
Around 30 lawyers have resigned recently....
Capital markets partner with his whole team left this year too. Murtaza had done the same last year!
B&F and tax teams have become ▮▮▮ empty....
Not surprising. The red flags have been visible for months now.
Nishithbhai ki yaad aa gayi.. its a different thing that they have stopped giving bonus altogether..
Completely wrong about how T1s work. Full flexibility - only keep eye on the numbers. As long as numbers are in line, no one bothers about where you work from.
Hence, deal counts are reducing day by day. LinkedIn page is full of comments made by partners in newspapers and no deal announcements
did something happen that led to this mail being sent? seems like that
Nothing seems to be wrong with this, whats ur point
atleast banking and litigation partners have work. M&A partners, except Kakkar, have no work. See ▮▮▮.
The point is that they make the associates work till 10 pm at night and are deducting half days for not turning up at 10 am
The HR policies are so bad that one of the HRs too left in less than six months
"I am not happy with the way the Firm is presently being run" - The managing partner
No more 'million-dollar' plus transactions happening, it seems
This is what happens when you fill your depleted ranks with non-meritorious PPO hires, especially in the Noida office. Saraf disputes has gone down the drain
Explain? Didn't Saraf only prefer NLU hires?
Im told that the Partners in disputes who came from Luthra times are average and it is the main reason that they fear hiring performers so that performers don’t outshine them.
What rubbish! If that were true, MS would never have poached RBM from right under S&R’s nose. By all accounts, that loss has been a debilitating blow to their disputes practice.
RBM has come without any team / books. How is it a loss to S&R?
Half of the partners are without books in the firm and nobody says a word to them. Why is RBM targeted liked this?
▮▮▮ came due to personal reasons, let us not share those on a public reason. Not a win for MS by any standard
Partners are mere puppets of MS. They've no stand of their own.
Dude fyi your IP has been logged onto the server everytime u use it, be careful
I send the requisite texts to my friend in the US, who posts it on my behalf.
So true IP address tracking is the easiest stuff out there
Kyu karta hai bhai aisa, I know the world is bad etc etc.

Bhai don't be jerk

Jis thaali mein khaate hai usme ched nahi karte

Just think from his perspective also
Keep up the good work. These lala sweatshops need to atleast need to own up their bs.
Hahah this must go on, keep on posting more.
I hope you didn’t use your office laptop to post this.
Walk out with your head head high for not standing up to this BS.
As pointed out by MS in the email, discipline starts from the top. If you can expect people to follow these rules, you should also pay salaries on time. Ain’t it?
Did MS get permission from Ojha ji before leaving for the US?
The policy does not apply to the Saraf family!
Some retainers have not even been told their revised retainership yet
I think this should not have been copy pasted on Legally India. This is quite usual at every firm and we all know it.
Having been at a Tier 1 for half a decade, this kind of communication is absolutely not usual at every firm.
Not sure about other teams but Disputes definitely cannot function like this. Also all of these guys are not employees. This is just churlish.
No more conferences post 7:30 PM with senior counsels then?!
No firm treats “Senior Partners” like this… unless you are looking for some brownie points, this is an unwanted message!
Senior partners / partners have no say in the firm. It is a sole proprietorship. Not sure why talented lawyers from NLS are still working here
Partners who have left S&P openly criticise the firm in public
One doubt -work from home is available on Wednesday for Counsels. This means all the lawyers right from A0 to Partner right?
I was earler part of a team with dwindling work and I noticed the same pattern, once work starts drying up, partners tend to control things like attendance in order to feel some level of control over associates.
Looks like this is the next breaking on legally india after the competition associate fiasco last year
Not giving due credit to associates / SAs / PAs on deals is akin to treating them as ghost workers (much like in the sweatshops)
MS- aa a consequence of leaking confidential information you should give surprise to your lawyers now, and make it 6 days WFO mandatory, start deducting retainership fees for late entry. Trust me, your lawyers only deserve this.
Seems to be a fair policy if required to be followed by everyone including senior partners. At least you have 1 day WFH which other law firms are denying. Maybe also introduce a carve out/ relaxed entry for burning the midnight oil on urgent matters.
Mr. Saraf, I must disagree with you. How am I to now ▮▮▮ , turn up in office in the afternoon and make a big hulabaloo about working late night, while getting the team to order food for everyone at the client's expense. Totally unfair.
Only if MS could be half as nice as he was at the Diwali party!
When did Luthra ask Senior Partners to report to Ojha? Which Luthra were you in? Dreaming luthra and hallucinating always law offices?
Not even Senior Partners have autonomy anymore.
Salaried Partners given the word Senior with no further perks you mean?
Absolutely. Ojha has deducted their leaves too!
Ha ha ha BMO getting the power that he has long waited for.
The problem is with infantalization of associates and partners
Law school ki yaad agyi 75% attendance mandatory
It's a law firm not the army. What is this nonsense about discipline? If someone makes money for the firm and bills time, late in-time / work from home should not result in leave docking. What an absurd policy!
Seems like except people who have nowhere to go, everyone has seen through the ▮▮ S&P. The worst is, ▮▮▮ 😂. So many like Shinoj are still at LNL and doing better than S&P’s so called ▮▮▮ partners. Dont understand their old guard’s resistance to generate work.
Chill dude, know this mail was in very bad taste. However, please note the firm is closing more than 200 crores of revenue. MS was being a typical lala MP in further cracking the whip. Certain someone who you are referring ▮▮▮
If anything, this comment was in very bad taste.
Retainers are made to serve notice period of 3 months and are still not paid accrued bonus / arrears. Support staff is highly under paid.
A0 hired in competition team is making way more than the A1 in the same team!
Hilarious: Ojha is still exercising discretion despite not having any 😂

Randomly and arbitrarily marking leaves
Ojha try to understand - our team does not end work at 7:30 p.m. We cannot be in office at 10 a.m.
If ▮▮▮ and ▮▮▮ open up their own firm - MS will get a taste of his own medicine.
Is this policy or the WFH policy, or any policy to applicable to gitunjali sharaf?
It's so funny to see that associates from law firms are here on this platform. These so called associates who are working in these so called prestigious jobs have the time to come for gossip here. ▮▮▮.
ms lacks ▮▮▮. He has said things in the firm meetings in the past that were unacceptable.
Is Mr. Jhawar the person you are referring to? He is quite a senior name in the industry as well, correct?
On point. He is a good business man but not a great leader. He lacks ▮▮▮ and leadership skills.
Saraf still seems to be better placed than Atlas Law (erstwhile Luthra & Luthra Law Offices). Almost every week someone is fired from Atlas or resigns. That doesn’t seem to be the case at Saraf at least.
Wait for the mass resignation after arrears are cleared
Again horrible increments to lateral hires!!!!
comments of this thread should be reduced into a book with a title of Struggle of MP of a law firm. No doubt it would be best seller
Struggle of or struggles created by MP?! He is making his associates struggle for no reason. He should shut down the firm if he cannot run it professionally.

Only one person would have pasted the policy here, no? How can multiple people do it?
A 22-word comment posted 10 months ago was not published.
That's horrible if true. Policy could have been copied & pasted here even with google lens and w/o sending it out of the server.
Legally India not LinkedIn.
