The SJA has already failed the GB multiple times by failing to produce evidence of wrongdoing by the VC. They squandered their opportunity in the GC and then tried to wing it by organising meaningless protests. Now no one takes us seriously. We have become a laughing stock. All thanks to SJA.
If we truly want to go after a rotten system (and not just an individual) then we need to cancel SJA from the equation. It serves the interest of ▮▮▮ who have a cozy relationship with the powers that be. ▮▮▮.
And when SC judge in the GC wanted evidence what did the SJA and the faculty do? I care abt the faculty as much they care about us. But SJA? They must pay the price of breaking out trust and making us run and look like headless chickens.
And now get to know that the headless chickens actually made 65 demands? Not that 47 demands made things sound or look better. Still what are these demands that couldn't even be mentioned in the media and not even when a student wrote on The Wire?
Where is the KO evidence? The lack of it clearly ensured that SJA was rightly fobbed off by the GC and now VC feels confident to organise interviews and dog whistle threats. He had indicated similarly through brief statements to Indian Express and TT.
Now the VC is unlikely to be given marching orders on Oct 16. So the farcical Oct 31 ultimatum of the SJA will fall flat. What then? Will it go against the EC? Will SJA litigate in Cal HC and SC esp when it cannot even produce the so called incriminating evidence before us; before GC; and before the media during the protests.
Kick out this SJA.
Buddy, your propaganda ain’t gonna work. NUJS students and alumni unanimously want an NLU-alum VC. And yes, we would much rather have a “phoren” educated VC rather than one with a jugaad PhD from Hazra or North Bengal (the VC of the latter was arrested in connection with the West Bengal teacher recruitment scam).

Another squandered opportunity (▮▮▮?) by SJA to ▮▮▮
Congratulations for getting published and trying to keep the fire alive. Unfortunately, a golden opportunity to take control of the narrative and nail NKC & Co has been squandered. The focus unfortunately is on the slippery SH order of SC, which may get modified in near future. More importantly, this article yet again failed to produce documented instances of financial wrongdoing by NKC and his cronies. Glaringly, the SJA leadership is missing from the entire exercise. Contrast this with SJA ownership of student protests leading to the ouster of PIB. Just search YT for NUJS Nite videos from 2016 onwards or slightly earlier. PIB and his gang were well entrenched and yet it was common knowledge to rank and file of NUJS officialdom that the mere whisper of SJA brass, esp a certain Prez (who began early as CR) would cause PIB and his campus friends scoot. Ask the PA (assuming honest answers will be given). All this without any violence and farcical gheraos. At no point SJA had the numbers that came this time to secure it's objectives. But they succeeded, incrementally, to get the damning documentation. They chiseled down the cabal (to the extent they could) with univ own documents.
The 47 demands remain unknown to the world and potential allies. The allegations remain unsubstantiated. The VC keeps playing victim without any effective counter. There is no answer on how the complicit SJA got summarily fobbed off and maybe rightly so due to lack of persuasive documentation. And lastly, the faculty members who goaded the students to aimlessly protest continue making us fools with greater audacity. Then again with friends such as SJA who needs...
That's what NUJS needs.
GC had questioned why they were protesting based on a matter sub-judice and the students had no answers because they failed to even engage with this line of reasoning before deciding to protest. They tried to hastily cover-up by mentioning financial impropriety allegations, which students had no clue about to begin with. They only vaguely knew that some faculty had raised some questions on research grant fundings. The true and actual reason for the protest is the SC order against the VC which MOST PEOPLE DID NOT READ IN WHOLE even though it was some 20-odd paragraphs. They only read para 22 on directions wrt VC's CV which was forwarded on the campus whatsapp group.
Funnily most students were not able to realise how this incident showcases their serious lack of critical thinking skills, because of lack of the said critical thinking skills. Campus whatsapp group has become a battlefield where only a specific types of ideas are accepted. Sad to see future lawyers succumbing to this, although the saving grace remains that most of them would spend their lives in corporate hierarchies, sufficiently disconnected from the ground realities, for both their and other people's benefit. For people who might be entrusted to protect other people's free speech, they remain the most opposed to a marketpalce of ideas.

Bottom line: NLUs only prosper with strict and rigorous academic standards.
- Merit based appointment of the next VC. A well-qualified NLU alum like Sudhir needed.
- Appointment of eminent legal luminaries of national stature in the governing bodies (as used to happen in the Menon/Chimni/Singh years) instead of third-rate Trinamool Congress lackeys
Without these two reforms, the protests will be meaningless.
