Please share suggestions on how to navigate a pivot to litigation ? (PQE: 6 years, location: Delhi)
You'll need a fair bit of patience, since most of your PQE will be discounted. Consider working an year or two in the office of a newly designated senior so that you can get exposure to how litigation works, before you join a chamber/ firm where you can learn drafting.
Silly advice, do the opposite. Drafting first then arguing counsel.
1. They need to understand the procedure and systems before diving into drafting cluelessly.

2. Offices of newly designated seniors still do drafting, only that the filings aren't in the name of the senior.
Unrelated, but why would you want to opt out of IP Practice? Is it solely related to personal reasons or due to how the work market is? Asking since I'm a 5th year (student) looking forward to a career in IP - and haven't been hearing great things about it. What's your take?
You're in a great location. Agree with advice expressed above. Work with a senior on HC and SC matters. Take on trial court matters independently. Network with other lawyers from across India. You will be happy with the pivot in a few years time.
If nothing else that has been suggested here works: Visit your friends' offices who are practicing independently, spend some days with them, keep busy with their work for some time to get a flavour while you figure out things from there
