Do Law Firms carry out background verifications? If yes, which Law firms do background checks? What do they check?
Do they reach out to previous Partners/Employers?
Khaitan and Co definitely reaches out to previous partners. So does Vaish.
Hahahaha seriously? Do they check previous internships as well?
Do they reach out before making an offer or after?
What sort of stuff is verified? Would they speak with your former employer? Verify past internships and everything?
Do they reach out before giving the offer; or after the offer just for the background check? At times people leaving isn't seen positively by the partners.
Indus does background verification with a third party service provider.
What about those who have left their previous organisation on bad terms / asked to leave ? How do you explain that in an interview ?
Yeah same question. What if you lie to them that you’ve actually not quit yet.
They usually do not for internships, but while offering, almost all of them do
Can someone pls say is it before or after offer letter?
Relax - a lot of people don’t bother to run these checks.
That’s non sense. Know a lot of people who have confirmed that big firms like KCO CAM SAM AZB JSA run these checks. May also revoke offers if not cleared.
Do they inform the candidates if they’re doing the background check? Also, is it done for everyone at each level?
Does AZB and other in-house companies also do background check?
I know for a fact private companies which deal in financial matters def run background.
if a candidate has fake certificate from a chamber or litigation firm, do they check? do they call that chamber?
Nobody calls up firms someone interned at to check. Kuch bhi?
