This attitude of semi-literate politicians catering to the lowest denominator has already harmed NLSIU. Domicile reservation was foisted upon it, even though it was clearly set up as a national institution modelled on the IITs and IIMs. The Karnataka High Court ruled in favour of NLSIU, but pressure was still put.
And now, Bangalore is becoming dangerous because of goons harassing non-Kannada people and Siddaramaiah encouraging them.

Point 2 - As a Bengaluru local, I will ask you to call the place Bengaluru and not Bangalore. If you choose not to do so, I have no ill-will against you, I just don't have respect for you since this comes from a place of willful ignorance.
Point 3 - You have no idea what it is like to feel like you have to learn someone else's language to communicate to them, in your own land. I wouldn't go to Delhi and speak English or any other vernacular language because no one would entertain that (apart from the privileged class who've had the opportunity to go through English medium schooling at well reputed institutions). I would be forced to learn Hindi lest I fail to communicate effectively. If you believe Bengaluru is unsafe, please stay away.

Counterpoint 1: NLUD does not have any domicile reservation. Even NLSIU did not have, until just a few years back. Then the "genius" idea stuck. If NLSIU wants to come down to the level of other NLUs (all state universities), be my guest.
Counterpoint 2: Whether Bengaluru/Bangalore is irrelevant. The intent is to ensure that the other person understands what we are referring to. How many times have you/we used the actual name "Singapura" - over Singapore?
Counterpoint 3: Delhi (BTW) is the only place where no one feels like an "outsider". The Marathi issue in Mumbai and the Kannada one in Bangalore are getting uglier by the day. As far as language is concerned, it is merely a medium of communication. To get by, if I have to use a mix of English, Hindi, and any other local language, I will do so. I am not a purist or a linguist, just pragmatic.
You might be a "local" of the city, but even though I left the city almost four years ago, and was last back on a visit last September, I can confidently say that you do not represent the city of Bengaluru very well, as the nativist and ethnonationalist attitude you have displayed here is not a picture I recognise when I think of people from Bengaluru.
infact language policy was't made in original constitution written by amedkar and team.. country was divided as per lingustic states as per people's asperations. if lingustic states were't formed then country would have been divided... infact formation of India and pakistan itself was not done correctly...nothing is perfect...
