It's high time AIJS is introduced.
For those recruited in DJS at 24-25 (few are), the promotions are better than a DHJS officer joining at 37-38. For those joining DJS at 29-32 (and many are), it is a long wait, especially if the rank is mid or low.
The problem has arisen with the last three batches of judges. The appointment has been done in high numbers since 2018-2019, without, any construction of houses (or court complexes for that matter). Delhi, in view of its population, needs even more judges, which is why the HC is regularly appointing more judges- but the infrastructure for the new officers is in the hands of executive i.e. delhi govt, and not the HC. There is a clear lack of coordination between the government and the HC. Currently, there are writ petitions ongoing before the HC regarding lack of accomodation, the fruits of which can be seen only in the next 3-4 years.
Having said that - once you get an accommodation, after a few years of waiting, you have it till you turn 60. So it really is a matter of time only.
It's anything but a stress free job.

Accommodations are very limited. There aren't sufficient judicial officers' residence complexes to house them all. Although some new ones are being constructed in North Delhi, I don't think they'd still be sufficient to house them all.
