Curious because I have only heard of corporate lawyers being able to shift.
If you want to transition to in-house, a decent experience on contracts is a pre-requisite. Stand-alone lit experience would mean that you get only pure lit roles in in-house teams or roles where you continue to draft responses etc - neither would be giving a clearer route to sr roles. Very large legal teams ask for specific lit experience but those roles are much lesser in number.
So, you should get some contract drafting experience if the target is an in-house role.
