Also, Singapore’s population is just as dense as India. Yet, the city feels less dense and has more greenery than India, because of smart planning. Smart planning is also the reason Singapore is cooler than India, despite bring closer to the equator.
So you have the answer before you. Meritocracy, honest politicians and bureaucrats, education and civic sense will make countries prosper generally and benefit from AI in particular. Populist welfarism, reservation, corruption, institutionalised meritocracy and an uneducated populace will make countries poorer and displace jobs through AI.

AI junior is here, it is much more powerful, effective and efficient than humans, so let us not be luddite and go quietly into the night, especially when the big daddy AGI is about to come.
