You do not need to read anything for the test. It's a pretty simple test and isn't proctored. They give you some research questions, and you have to answer accordingly. You are allowed to search the web and use other legal databases for answering.
I had applied through my college RCC. I had a similar score (attempted 8) and got an internship with JSA Mumbai. If you have a high rank, I think you have a decent chance. They take 3-4 weeks to respond after you have attempted the last test.
