Who it CAN be: Faizan Mustafa. His political ideology will suit the TMC and also the students, who are mostly left-leaning. At the same time, he governed NALSAR well. First thing he did as NALSAR VC was write a letter to all alumni requesting their help and inputs.
Who it WON’T be: VCV or Sinha. No political heft.
Mamata as CM = Bhat, Amit Talukdar and NKC as VCs = Sanjay Basu and Kalyan Banerjee on the governing body.

VCV is VC Vivekanandan, former professor at NALSAR. He deserved to have been appointed instead of NKC last time, but the TMC pushed through NKC.
MKS is MK Sinha. Was a professor and NUJS and one of MP Singh’s recruits. He left for ILI and has been in Delhi for a long time.
VCV and MKS will definitely be an improvement over NKC, but what NUJS really needs is a top-class NLU alum like Sudhir.
