Thank you for your response. You make a very fair point. But I've already completed 6 internships under advocates, with 2 of them being with Sr. Advocates. But all of them were engaged with civil disputes only. I just wanted to have some exposure to the practice area of TMT, be it dealing with the specific regulations, rules or the applicable appellate bodies. I have applied to several law firms (not limited to TMT), but given my academic year (I'm in my second year, Bo'29), none of them have replied positively to my applications to them. And that is why I thought that perhaps working with a Sr Advocate who regularly engages in TMT matters would be a solution to this conundrum. In any case I would continue to do the best I can, and make sure my fundamentals remain strong, as you suggested.
No point going into TMT right now, I'd say focus on building your fundamentals first. Go to court with a good advocate and just help as much as you can, go to a firm and start figuring out how to contribute in a law firm setup. You can only be a good TMT intern once you're a good intern right?
I'm a second-year student from a T1 NLU. I've always been interested in technology. I've got a couple publications under my belt, a decent batch rank, moot court achievements, you get the picture. However, so far, I've been unsuccessful in convincing any of the law firms I've come across to offer me an internship in the field of TMT Law, despite applying for them several months in advance. I do not blame them, perhaps being a second-year student is too young to be working in a firm set-up TMT practice, and they're not willing to bet on me. Which is why I'm looking for Advocates or Senior Advocates who are seasoned in the field and would likely be receptive to an internship request. I can research, I can draft, I can work upon whatever is required, I just need an opportunity. I would be grateful for any leads or advice on the same. (I'm a first-generation law student from a modest family. I have no connections or network that I can leverage for this.)
