Now bear in mind that, on its own, the number you choose here represents your own sense of what you expected from your current institution and in what way has your current institution delivered upon that expectation. The number represents where you expected to be now, in terms of your intellectual and profesional growth. What a person expects is an evolving question that changes with time. But anything less than 7 is, in my view, a cause for concern because no young, intelligent person (such as yourself) should ever feel that they are living a life lesser than what they deserve. Sometimes, it is better to dare, especially when you have earned that right by qualifying for admission to a place you always wanted to study at.
But please, I urge you, do not worry about "wasting" two years of your life if you decide to go to another institution. Life can be incredibly unpredictable. Worse things than what you are afraid of today can and will happen eventually. You can die tomorrow, for one thing. Does that mean your life was a waste because you did not live long enough to do things you would have wanted to do? No! Savour your present. Appreciate the time you have spent at your particular institution and move on to another place if that is what you think is a better choice for your intellectual and professional life. Our country is a hard place. Many capable men and women will never have the opportunity that you have today: that is the real "waste" and not the time you have spent at your current institution.
You are an intelligent person who knows enough and who can work enough to put themselves in a position where they can now go to an institution of their choice. Give yourself a pat on the back, good fellow. I congratulate you on your success. I do not doubt at all that if you choose to go NLUD, you will make for an excellent company, intellectually and socially. Any institution you have qualified for will gain by your presence.
Get a good night's sleep. Think clearly about where you are now and where you would like to be. Determine the way to achieve that. And then make the decision. Something tells me where ever you go, you will do a fine job. All the best.
