1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

I’m a freelance content writer and, like many in the field, I frequently face delayed payments from clients. Despite having signed PDF contracts and documented communication (email + messages), I often find myself chasing payments — sometimes for weeks or months — and practically having to grovel to get what I’m owed.
Right now, I’m stuck trying to recover around ₹30,000 from a client who keeps stalling with vague excuses. I delivered all the agreed-upon work, followed up professionally, and even sent invoices and reminders, but payment is still pending.
Is there a realistic legal route I can take to enforce payment?
I’m open to options like consumer court, MSME Samadhan (if applicable), or any other effective channel.
I’d prefer something that doesn’t involve spending more money than I'm owed.
Would really appreciate any guidance from those who’ve navigated similar issues. Thanks in advance.
