You can be paying same rent in Mumbai and NCR / Bangalore, it's just you'll be living further from office and that's a struggle.

Obviously, this is assuming the person keeps their lifestyle in check for the first 4-5 years i.e., avoids buying a fancy car (> 10L), stays in a decent place (rent < 20-25k) and avoids foreign vacations.
This is also assuming that the person does not have significant financial liabilities (> 20k a month) i.e., towards education loan, family, health, etc.
