I was recently interning at KCO Mumbai in their disputes team. Having mostly interned in corporate teams before, I knew basics about litigation. I once had to assist an A0 who was working from home on sick leave for an urgent filing. She called me and explained everything patiently and I was somewhat losing my shit because the originals were with me and I hadn’t handled an entire filing alone. Even amidst the frustration of having to explain the A-Z of filing to an intern on a leave, she helped me step by step and made sure I don’t succumb to stress. After hours of coordinating when the filing went through, she called me and said thanks for helping. Made my day.

To all the seniors who help their juniors step up by showing the right mentorship and patience, pray that you’re the happiest person in every room you walk into..

I hear you hellooo! You get really few moments in life to really reach out and do something for someone - and I’ll say I’ve been very lucky to always have been found by the right seniors who have passed on their experiences to me. Many would call it good luck, I call it divine intervention. Thank you for making my day too :)

Happy to endorse and echo every word of this. Have had an awesome senior. She and I knew each other while she was still at university and I was still at school, and had just begun thinking about higher education more generally, and law specifically. Even though she studied law at a different uni to me, she has been a guiding light throughout my law school years, despite being in a stressful law firm environment (while my ambitions were entirely different). While she and I were only acquaintances in prior years, we are now firm friends, and if you ever hear me talk about her, you will hear me say that I am 'fortunate enough'/'privileged enough' (or any other synonymous phrase to those) to call her my mentor and friend. If you can be like this for someone, you deserve some sort of huge medal of honour; you genuinely increase the quality of life of your juniours through inspiring them and helping them to learn. My thanks to all such seniors like this who are out there. Keep being you, you're just awesome.

To all those who aren't like this and who don't want to be, alright, you also keep being you; but if you treat juniours like the dog who rolled in something smelly, get mentally ready for one day being treated like that yourself, too.
