Does SAM benchmark salaries based on your last drawn or do they align it with internal bands when you're joining from a tier 3 law firm?
They will cut your PQE by a few years and also pay you slightly lower than ones who had joined SAM as an A0 or from other T1s. So, your salary will not increase by a lot.
I'm being paid 8.5 LPA at PQE2. I had to join this place due to some family emergencies. I was hoping for a course correction of sorts at SAM. I don't mind losing out on the PQE but I do need the money. Percentage wise how much does SAM offer on the last drawn?
20-25% more from my last drawn salary??? thats it??? Isn't it unfair when your work expectations from an associate are the same as those who joined SAM as an A0?
That's it? How are they still tier-1 if only homegrowns are given those higher salaries? I assume at least 65-70% have moved laterally to SAM.
Because they bring you to parity after a couple of years, provided you stick long enough
My guess is that you will join as an A0 or an A1 and get paid around 12-14. But again, it depends on negotiation
They will cut your pqe by 2 years. Pay you like 20-30% less than what they pay a fresher. Still you would be getting somewhere around 14 so thatโ€™s something good right?
How much time do they take to roll out the offer letter ?
Sam โ–ฎโ–ฎโ–ฎ. In some cases, they have just paid 10k per month lower than the home grown to keep the home grown happy.

To make matters worse, the reconciliation never happens.
Lower by 10k per month is not bad tbh. I'd take it - but just 20% above my current...I'd rather stay here and wait for a better T1.
The catch is that there is no better T1. This is the standard practice
