Sharing your current offer letter can be an issue if (a) you have misrepresented key facts - like your position or what you make. (b) you don't work at the place you are claiming to work at. If you don't have an offer letter - you can ask your HR to issue it saying that you want it for your records.
Hope you are doing well as well as thank you for accepting my connection request. If I have may have kind attention for a few minutes, I would be indebted. You might not recall but I had applied for a position of a legal associate with the General Corporate and Transactions team of xxxxxx back in November, 2024. Over a course of 4 β 5 months thereafter, I underwent a series of interviews, discussions and written assessment rounds, leading all the way up to the process of background verification, wherein yourself was a panellist as well as I recall. All this while, I was not given any concrete information of the status of application, as the rounds progressed. Towards the end, I was asked submit my personal documents as part of the background verification process, albeit without any context as to my selection. I complied by providing my previous offer and reliving letters and bank statements as sufficient proof of my professional credentials β though the same seems quite puzzling, given when someone has not been given any confirmation of their position. However, when I was asked about my current organizationβs offer letter, I honestly winced, given the fact that I am still employed with the firm. I tried to reason with the HR and legal team with every possible explanation I had, however, my request was outright denied. I tried every possible method to try and reason the team to arrive at point of mutual understanding, where neither would at a disadvantage, however the conflict could not be resolved at any point, despite having provided sufficient documents establishing my credentials. Ultimately, the team had to drop my candidature, however, I believe it is highly unfair and incorrect for my long-drawn, and teamβs collective effort to go in vain over something trivial such as this. If the matter pertains to mutual mistrust, there can be certainly be an option around it, however, if the impasse was simply for the purpose of running a background check beforehand without my consent, then I can very comfortably say that it would most certainly would have come as negative since I had not intimated at my current organisation of the same. It would have caused two thing simultaneously- the BGV would have failed and I would be fired from my current job, a situation not very congenial to my professional aspects. If you believe I was malicious or unprofessional in any mannerism and asking for some verbal / written comfort, none received whatsoever, from an employer before handing over all pieces of their confidential information is too selfish or insubordinate of me, then I believe there is something gravely concerning in how the recruitment process if conducted. Having stated all that, I informed the HR team and the ones concerned that I would still be more than willing and hopeful to work-out a path of mutual benefit and cooperate in whatever manner I can, as I have in the past as well.
Thank you for your time and kind attention and hope to hear from you.
Regards,
