Even if they don't. it is undeniable that they have consistently beaten NLUs in national and international qualifiers, as well as international moots. They were runners-up in the OxPrice South Asia Qualifiers (which had "NLU participation"), reached the semifinals in NALSAR CCI, and each Vis team won an international Vis pre-moot. They did not perform as well in their own Indian Vis Pre-Moot due to an institutional policy of not advancing their own teams to the knockout rounds of competitions they host. But both teams performed well in their respective Vis moots in Hong Kong and Vienna. They won the Leiden CRC (last year, NLUJ reached the semifinals, and this year, multiple NLUs participated), and another JGLS team reached the semifinals. They were runners-up in the Asia Pacific rounds for Manfred (which also had NLU participation), with the only team they lost to being SMU, a Singaporean university. They were the best Indian team there. Last year, they won the international rounds of FDI, reached the quarterfinals in INTA, won NLUJ Antitrust, and were runners-up in PAX (which had Indian teams participating). In fact, SMU did not perform well in PAX, and if you're familiar with mooting, you know that the Ivy Leagues don't have a strong mooting culture (the last Ivy League team to win a grand slam was Harvard, which won Jessup nearly five years ago). SMU and NUS are the undeniable leaders in mooting, and jindal has been able to compete with them. JGLS, however, has consistently excelled in all grand slams and other prestigious moots over the past five years. All these wins and achievements isn't a simple coincidence, its reflective of a larger pattern. No NLU is even close; JGLS has surpassed them. Brother, it’s not about the Ivy Leagues, but rather about creating a healthy mooting culture that fosters the success of young mooters—something JGLS has achieved, while other Indian colleges have not. It is that simple.

Haters gonna hate but these are some ground truths:

1. Jindal has good faculty who train the students well.

2. No expense is spared to give the teams whatever support they want. Teams don’t waste time begging to law firms for funds.

3. Very good students who would otherwise have been in NLUs are heading to Jindal nowadays, thanks to all kinds of quotas and reservation in NLUs pushing them out.

4. Most Jindal students are anyway from elite ICSE/IB schools and have highly developed reading, writing and speaking skills in English. This gives you a natural edge in moots.

5. Finally, there is no incestuous NLU cabal when it comes to judging foreign moots. If anything, many foreign judges have heard of Jindal but not certain NLUs, because Jindal has extensive international tie-ups abroad and sends many students abroad each year.

Open-book exams are not supposed to be easy if set by qualified and competent faculty. Some of the most difficult exams that I have undertaken in law school (both in India and abroad) have been open-book. However, I have never seen any paper from JGLS, so I do not know about the quality of those exams.
