Let's just call that stint with Saraf an uninformed misadventure?

Gharwapasi on the cards?

Spill the beans!

oh how the mighty have fallen, so much for attention to detail. Paan ki dukaan, as they used to mock other sweatshops.
What about the new lit partner in Mumbai? Any good? are they hiring?
Who is this, by the way? can you give some hints? Not heard anything like that at S&R, at least in DEL. BOM not sure.
Because of LI moderation. There’s no way of getting the truth across on this platform.
Dear Mr. Boomer, why don’t you go take a look at what’s happening at the Delhi office, anyone would be happy to apprise you of this situation.

Bro what are these comments what is happening? Can someone give the actual reality and current status please?
The senior management has failed to resolve inter personal issues within teams. Its almost like they prefer to turn a blind eye to an abusive partner rather than taking measures to remedy a bad situation before it gets worse.
Esp one associate who is snooty and ill-mannerred.

What rubbish! There are so many laterals at S&R. I think all their partners except RRI, JC, DN & RH are literals. Even SB’s mini mi is arguably ghar wapasi lateral. His time at K&E was so short - could it even be called a stint? 🤷🏼‍♀️
Why does this positive comment have so many downvotes?
Do they really do litigation in Mumbai? They do everything but litigation, their so called litigation people in Mumbai does everything but litigation for example M&A, Corporate etc. and that’s why people leave the team. There is a high attrition rate.
Any update on the litigation team at Mumbai especially SK’s team? Worth joining?

There have also been a significant number of under-the-radar, partnership-level hires that, oddly, haven’t been publicised on B&B, etc.
Could this be a sign that the firm is not doing to well- the firm’s books not doing too well?
It’s about time the firm management looks into this issue seriously. There was a time when you rarely ever heard of any departure news from S&R - people were really happy to continue working at the firm. Something serious has happened in the recent years.
She also left a while back. So many partner exits.
Legacy appendages unable to balance their own weight must give way to resources that can. This, at the end, is a business. A profitable one. Not a club.
Who is even left ? Tanya, Shivaji, Mohit, Viral, Divyanshu, now Lakshmi - it seems like everyone is gone.
S&R will basically be left as a cap marks practice
Lakshmi is a gem. Hope she succeeds wherever she chooses to go next! But what a massive loss for the firm.
So that makes it 4 corporate equity partner exits in 1 yr, with MG, VM, PG and LP leaving. For a firm like S&R that is a big loss. Wonder if there are more exits to follow.
No, no, please cut that person some slack. I come to Legally India, just for this, to watch people behave like babies :)
Completely, totally and wholeheartedly agree with what has been said about SAM here!! Although that former EP was a pretty fair-minded individual, things are much worse now.
It’s three weeks since this post and there has been no announcement of such an exit. Please don’t litter the internet with more fake news! 🤷🏼‍♀️
IM, GI AND UT seem to be the favourites of the litigation team. Have been around for the longest & have been in court quiet a lot.
The bonus is not at par. Most importantly, its very hard to switch from S&R to another firm. The training is very poor, especially because of the way teams are structured.
people who were not with the firm intially, but who joined later on. perhaps an example would be a person who was working in an another firm before joining s&r
A certain OG partner is leaving. It's one after the other.
Another intern here with the Delhi office.

While the HR was supportive and the stipend is really good, the capital markets team was so toxic and non communicative for the work.
Her move to an international firm is a testament to the quality of her previous workplace, which prepared her well for such an opportunity.
Zarah got an offer to work with an overseas law firm - a rare opportunity for an Indian disputes lawyer. Can't fault her for moving.
Zahra jumped ship too. Some things perhaps are better undefended.

Why would you assume that couldn't happen at S&R
how did you get the internship?? need help
How likely is it that the partners don’t know about this and it is really being done by the IT?

This has been reported as false - is it possible this just applies for firm-provided phones? Probably most firms have such profiles on phones for security reasons or if the phone gets lost, etc?
Does it give them access to see which phone apps are installed, and to read WhatsApp chats?
She comes from wealth. Doesn’t need to work for “money”. She has carefully and painstakingly cultivated a phenomenal reputation and career. It’s S&R’s loss. They’ve lost the only heavy hitter they had in litigation, other than the head honcho who is now just too ▮▮▮
Take those personal reasons, or anything else from that source with loads of salt. Like, just add the entire Arabian Sea 🌊 It’ll serve you well.

Who in their right mind would leave JSA’s competition team to join S&R’s competition team? My heart goes out to that poor soul and pray for her sanity 🙏🙏

I’ll take embarrassing anyday over being shouted at everyday and a spinal injury forcing me to take a year off.
Can anyone speak to the culture in the Mumbai office? Specifically in the corporate teams? Is it good for freshers?
Considering what her own personal reasons were, she should have left law firms and not just s&r.

This is on s&r completely

In all honesty, this could be said of SAM too. Especially in the disputes practice in Delhi. I've seen many good laterals being treated very poorly for no rhyme or reason, especially in the team of a former EP who's now into public service.
No place for laterals to join. They are treated like shit, worse than their home grown elite lawyers.
Why is the moderation so slow- long weekend?
Lets pls get basic facts right, Raunaq has left on her own accord owing to certain personal reasons (there is no need to discuss the details of that in public) and not because she was generally dissatisfied with the lit team.
Ah, the classic 'sky is falling' pitch. I must’ve missed the memo that gossip replaced due diligence. Thanks for the update though, I’ll be sure to check the facts with reality
how is their corporate doing after mohit gogia exited?

To only a few "favorites". Laterals can basically join and sink.
Well Raunaq has left. Lots of litigation people have left. The lit team is collapsing if that's where you want to join. I do hear that exits are expected for many others.
its one of the better ones in the little leagues. But not a tier 1 at any rate. Just because they pay A0s at par, doesnt mean they’re a t1.
While S&R do care about learning, the other decision makers operate on pure bias and treat their retainers like shit.
Seems to be doing well. Have given PPOs to several NLUs for the 2026 batch. Of course, being a smaller firm, they only take 1-2 kids from each school. Personally, I love the work culture at their Delhi office.
A good firm that promises unparalleled career progression to the deserving. They support and look out for their own, like no one else. Ask anybody.
