please give me some book recommendations to 1. improve my vocab 2. improve my overall knowledge about law and lawyers world
Not too much into books. Can recommend you a movie instead,

Watch Aitraaz (2004) by Abbas Mustan. Cult movie on the Indian legal system and Litigation in general.
With all due respect, why recommend such potboilers when there is already a brilliant film like Court available?
It's a shame that Kyo Kii. Main Jhuth Nahi Bolta (2001) has not been mentioned here.

Bible for the way Indian courts and Litigation machinery functions!
Try reading some good autobiographies of lawyers

/judges:

Roses in December (Justice HR Khanna)

Before Memory Fades (Fali Nariman)

On Balance (Leila Seth)
Roses in December is MC Chagla's book. My Life: Law and Other Things by Setalvad is also a good one
Justice Khannas book is called Neither Roses nor Thorns. Also good.
For ask no. (2), consider reading Shishir Vaytadden's "Kill the Lawyers". Shishir is a leading M&A partner and the book, considering that I have 3 years of work ex working for an M&A team, gives a very real insight into the world of Indian M&A lawyers.
