At this point, I’ve come to the difficult realization that I may not be cut out for the legal profession. By biggest flaw was my sub par research skills. I had an incredibly torrid time finding relevant case laws during internships and my academic writing work wasn't great as all my draft manuscripts at decent journals got rejected multiple times. Strangely I was decent in academics -with a 9/9/7 profile. I had an inkling during college that this career won't work out but never thought I'd go jobless for a year.
Now I'm 25 and realize I don't have many options or lots of time. I’ve been researching possible careers but still feel lost. Risk management seems like an interesting option, particularly in compliance, AML, and regulatory risk, but I have no finance or compliance background. I’m unsure if I should pursue certifications like FRM or CAMS or just look for entry-level roles. Legal tech and AI-related roles also seem promising, especially in compliance automation and contract analysis, but I don’t know the road map to land a job in this field. I’ve also considered preparing for regulatory body legal officer exams (SEBI, RBI, etc.), but given my career gap and lack of work experience, I don’t know if it’s realistic, especially since I wouldn’t be preparing full-time.
At this point, I just want a stable career that pays atleast 35k monthly, and I’m willing to start from scratch. Any advice would be appreciated. I even had to unmatch people on dating apps whom I was having a decent conversation with because I felt too insecure about my future and not being able to afford dates and remaining jobless😅

Just be honest about why you want to do an mba, take help of coachings. But all this comes later, first crack that percentile
Just crack it and there will be no looking back. You will be richer and happier in the long run. Of course, it’s hard to make it to the top IIMs, especially if you are a non-EWS general category student. But you can try the IITs, the lower IIMs or even NIFT (MFM - Master’s in Fashion Management) along with private institutions like ISB, FORE, MICA etc. Even Symbiosis isn’t bad. Worst case go to Jindal for an MBA. Good luck!
Tier 1 ends with IIFT Delhi and IIM Indore
It’s probably the pressure from your family, and maybe seeing your friends working at jobs that’s giving you FOMO.
Assuming you aren’t the brightest student in class, you can definitely work in a Tier 2/ Tier 3 firm. Corporate work is not that difficult although some colleagues may be difficult to work with.
If you’ve not completely written off corporate law as a career, don’t give up hope. Be strategic with your approach. Don’t apply to 1500 firms randomly. Select boutique firms, small size firms, see when partners/ associates are leaving. DM associates on LinkedIn to figure out if they are vacancies and then apply .
