As for IP law, the situation is slightly better, but many firms like KCO pay nearly half to the IP team, when seen in comparison to other corporate areas, which have at least a hundred teams across leading law firms.
So if you're planning to start your career and don't have clientele or industry connections, my brutally honest advice is to not target data privacy or even IP.
