Wow that sounds awful, are you sure about this? Why would people choose to work here over other large firms then? I saw that a couple of their senior associates are from indus/argus and rajaram / burgeon etc where work life would be better or not but at least pay would be better

They have a very below average reputation among the legal and VC/ PE circuit outside their clientele. I've heard a couple of funds refuse to work with them on the opposite side and got them changed. Instead of trying to get the deal done - they are the opposite. Having seen them on deals - can understand why. Most annoying T1 teams are also better than them.

I have had the privilege to read thru all the comments here and man! What do I say? The names of these firms? Today, any person will open any firm with whatever name which has some latin term in it. What has it come to? This is so concerning. I'm sure half of these firms are opened by people who have no proper training and just use these fancy names to attract clients. The other half, despite being big names, still choose to use such names as if it would help. On the subject of the work - I find it even more surprising that people actually choose to work in such boutique law firms - knowing fully well that the real success in law is all about bringing in clients [clients=work=money]. These associates in these firms would be working mindlessly on a specific template for the clients the founders would have gotten, and man, what then thereafter? How is a clueless 23 year old associate supposed to know how to get clients? Will they work like this forever? 10 years later they'd have no skill and - a 10 year younger fresher would come and replace them. It's honestly sad that this has come to this. Even more so, for an area of work which has been traditionally considered to be just 'paperwork' and 'formality' and has no real application of law.

Ex associate. They actually have a very high amount of transactions (approx 80% as you mentioned) - and while that SA left, the firm bolstered with another SA coming in - and with an additional ex Trilegal SA coming in as a Counsel as well.

Great quality of work, the delhi founding partner can be a task master but seems to know what he's doing and seems to be well known in the industry despite being fairly young.

Pay bracket (when i was there):

A0 - 50k + 1L bonus
A1 - 60-70k + 1.2/1.4L bonus
A2 - 80 - 90k + +1.6 /1.8 bonus
A3 - 1.1 + 2.2 bonus
SA1 - 1.5 + 3L bonus
SA2 - never had one at this level when i was there lol

I hear the team is small, the SA is leaving. They only have one SA now. What is this? Another Lala Firm with 20% transactional work and 80% GenCorp/ Employment Advisory/ Fund Formation/ any other work they can get on their hands which may be close to be called as Gen Corp? OR Is this one of those underdog boutique firms with decent work (80% transactions) where you can learn for a year or so and switch to T1.

The team is relatively small for handling so many VC transactions as they claim to.

Also how is the pay? Is there a bracket?
