Why is Mumbai such a rude city ?
People will forget about their mothertongues. this is already happening when english and hindi are given importance in society.

Kolkata in particular and Bengal in general is in the same category today as the rest of BIMARU states. There is little sense in comparing them with Mumbai.

That's still no excuse to be rude and angry all the time. Even Kolkata has too many people, diminishing resources and abysmal governance, people there are definitely way more polite than Mumbai.

There is a difference between handholding, which is not expected, and being polite, which is a must. Unfortunately, most Mumbaikars don't see the difference between the two.

S/he didn't say the language was rude, but it may sound rice to someone from Lucknow. It is very possible. Tu is seen as very disrespectful in Awadh, Purvanchal & Bihar, while Tu is very often used in Mumbaiya Hindi.

I will never understand how this got past the mods. Wide scale generalisations and terming a whole language (spoken by a million people) as “rude” is as communalist as a comment can get. Your comment reeks of communalism and a faux sense of superiority. Grow up.
