But what happens to other NLUs then? The crux of ASG Vikramjit Banerjee’s (also an NLSIU alum) argument before the Kar HC was that only NLSIU is a national institution, whereas NALSAR or NUJS are state institutions, because the CJ is Chancellor of NLSIU. The Kar HC accepted this argument, but overlooked the fact that the CJI is also Chancellor of a few other NLUs. Will tie SC address this?
