My primary responsibility involved conducting in-depth research on contemporary legal and policy issues. I analyzed legislative frameworks, case laws, and regulatory policies to contribute to comprehensive policy briefs and general research.
I also assisted in preparing briefing materials for MPs and Government stakeholders on topics such as AI regulation, data privacy, and dual use tech.
While the work was pretty good, one of the most valuable aspects of my internship was the mentorship I received from DD, who guided me through the nuances of policy writing and strategic communication. These sessions were pivotal in refining my writing style and understanding the impact of well-crafted policy arguments.
Additionally, my conversations with Dhruv about career pathways in law and public policy were incredibly insightful.
The team at IGAP is incredibly approachable, fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment. Despite the high standards of work, the office maintains a relaxed atmosphere with flexible timings, there are a lot of team activities and lunches and dinners. Moreover, IGAP pays its interns.
Since they have also grown substantially since I was there, I think if you're interested in policy and government affairs, it's a great place to intern.
