Tldr; 3xx rank in clat - parents wont let me go out of our city - now enrolling in a private university - how to upskill and ensure good opportunities in top firms?
I, unfortunately cannot answer these since but bumping for reach. I'm sure you will find your answers on here. Good luck ! Just hang in there
WTF Imagine letting your child miss a chance like that. I’m so sorry man
I’m trying so hard n they won’t move :/
Don't be stupid, argue with your parents till they listen.
I’ve been trying everyday. Family Brunches, Dinners- all the damn time. It just ends with them telling me to shut up n that they’ll see. so pissed
dude no wayyyyy 3xx is an insanely good rank. Try to talk to them again
I’m doing everything that I possibly could. Nothing’s different
Yes, I did attend coaching classes and yes, they’ve spoken to a couple of my mentors. They just sat n kept nodding in front of them. It was almost like they were throwing it all out of their other ear
Sorry to hear you’re in this situation. bump!!
This is so bad. Horrible advice. Law is the last degree where a PG can be a gamechanger.
Hi. Congratulations on your CLAT Rank!! You have to convince them. The branding of a good NLU will definitely reduce the hustle you would have to do for internships. You don’t want to be in a position where you regret stuff a decade from now. Good luck to you!!
Don't do this, show your parents your worth.
Such parents don’t deserve a child - you have done so well and they should be so damn proud. They’re robbing you of a chance to make a life. Cut contact with them and move out.
You'd be making a mistake which you'll regret for years and for how long will you let them control your life
i ran away from home and paid my fees using scholarship and stipends, try as hard as you can
fight your parents. else, you will resent them for rest of your life and anyway end up fighting.
Fight with your parents. Break all relations with them, if you have to. After all we are taking of state NLUs. They are more important than anything else in life.
I too, agree that the poor girl has to try to knock some sense into her parents’ heads and (top) NLUs are game changers but “NLUs are more important than anything else in life” really??

come on dude. don’t do this to these kids.

regards,

NLS grad.
Nah. Man. Parents need to chill out- they'll end up regretting it.

Even as NLUs are not some magically perfect, happy ending places but still...better to do law from NLUs rather than random colleges.
try making a linkedin account and ask any of your prospective law school ke seniors to have a conversation with your parents, i think most would be helpful with that.
Why is drinking a little (not being an alcoholic ofc) and messing around with guys with bad? Part of college is learning to live a little!
