The Chancellor has said that he will meet the students on 3rd February. That's one reason for calling off the protest. If the protest continued, it would be dishonour to the Honourable Judge of the HC. Students are now waiting for the Chancellor's meeting.

Mind giving us more details? You're being remarkably tight-lipped about this affair! People have a troubling tendency to form impressions based on information they're given, rather than asking for more. And the impression that we're gaining here is that you guys are a bunch of people with zero balls. So to remedy this, why don't you tell us: what did the teachers who "addressed the students" at the protest say? Did they threaten, bully or intimidate you? Did they offer to mediate? Or something else?

The student council suddenly announced on their own to call off the protest after the teachers addressed the students while we were at the protest. Students who were sitting there questioned why such a sudden decision was made without student consensus. The sudden announcement by the student council divided the students, causing second thoughts.

Heard the students did not had a unanimous stance, few of them were attending classes while the protest was on. They broke down when a few of them got scared and lost attendance for these days as well. This place is doomed.

The protest has now been called off. Even after 6 days of protest the VC was not ready to talk to the students. While the protest was going on the VC was taking a lecture on effective communication but didn’t had the audacity to communicate with students.

I had visited the university last year on invitation as a potential recruiter. While interacting with the students, I found the students to be quite intelligent and willing to work hard. They also mentioned some genuine problems that they had been facing, including academic and non-academic concerns. I did try to convey those to the problems and request them to genuinely engage the students on those matters, only to face complete stonewalling. Some of the people named above were involved and their behaviour was rather supercilious, rather unreasonably so. In the end, I gave up since I did not have the bandwidth to fight that much. There is no dearth of talent in the place, just some proper guidance and assistance are needed to make it a good T2 option, after the top 6-7 places.

National law university Odisha is going through tough times lately due to unilateral decision taken by VC who thinks students who doesn’t litigation doesn’t are worthless piece of shit. It is really disheartening to see slow and gradual decline of this institution which was once known for mooting. Sadly now students are forced to attend classes until late in the evening with same pointless ppt by mediocre faculty who are least bothered about teaching and all they care is to follow orders of dean and vc and complete classes. If this vice chancellor gets another 5 years as extension this college is destined for failure. I feel for students not that they are always correct but its unfortunate but prospect of this college is v bleak. Students are frustrated with administrators unilateral approach of imposing everything they deem fit without proper consultation.

Wifi problem is there since 2022. They have increased number of students like hell with wifi facilities made for some 700-800 people. Toilets require maintainance but they failed there too, these are not the major issues. Major issues were tutorial classes till late evening. That's it. Now they have made it a complete different propaganda protest and throwing shit at their own future prospects. But yes, this protest is necessary as Ved, Rangin, and Sheela have become too arbitrary and unreasonable. They are classic examples of how leaders shouldn't be like.

NLUO students have been protesting against the administration for various reasons. I have heard they do not have proper wifi and girls' washrooms. What's really happening? If this is a situation in NLU toh baaki colleges mai toh kya hi expect karna.
