When I review CVs, any publication listed under such journals leads to an automatic rejection. It's worth investing time in credible, peer-reviewed journals rather than taking shortcuts with publications that don't carry weight in the field.
Not having publication at all > pay-to-publish journal. Do moots, do good internships, do crazy centre work. Anything.
