I have no idea what the funds team does. Can anyone please help me out and explain me like I am a newbie? I want to do an internship in funds. Please
Which are the firms which offer this practice area? Understand that it is fairly concentrated between Trilegal, K Co and ICUL, and NDA is not very active in the space anymore. Are there any options beyond these?
Yes it’s a choice between these three. The market knows that there is nothing left at nda now in terms of funds. Hardly anyone with experience in funds left to do the work. Tri KCO IC have the best clientele and work to do.
Other options but for name sake funds will be DSK, ELP, Bharucha, SAM. CAM and NDA are past their prime. Career suicide - no one in NDA with experience to mentor. CAM hardly got much work to do. BLC is upcoming in this space. Can consider
Interesting. Didn't know that DSK, ELP and Bharucha can also be considered. Thanks for pointing out BLC, I did read about it on LinkedIn, but forgot about it. Will apply
Recently interned with ELP funds team. Highly recommend.
Yes, loved interning with Vinod Joseph and his associates.
Have read a lot of bad stuff from Tri. I want to apply to firms wherein I can directly work with the partner and learn. Let me know how are the teams generally structured in this practice.
Someone advice on law firms with a good funds team to join as an A1 too
Nothing of consequence. Avoid this practice area as there are limited options and very few opportunities to grow. Most teams are toxic.

Mujhe bhi yeh naukri karni hai. Date toh main change kar hi loonga..
Agree - it's even more brain dead than IPO-Capital Markets practice. Avoid even if you are paid well.
Not true. It’s a niche and super technical area of corporate law. As a funds lawyer, you apply your knowledge of regulations every day.
