How is the IP team in CAM and KCO? Specially considering CAM started last year while KCO has been in a game for long?
KCO's IP team is really good, has great matters and genuinely good people. Only downside is that pay is not at par with rest of the firm, but it's still more than 90% IP practices out there.
why work for half the pay when you get more atr CAM?
The money would be better at CAM short term no doubt. But there are already more people and less work so career growth and promotions may take a hit.
It is not at par with other Tier 1 IP practices too. AzB, Trilegal and CAM pays far more wigh Trilegal and CAM taking the cake. The pay is only marginally lesser than SAM'S IP team. Tier 1 law firm pay cannot be compared with Boutique IP firm salaries.
I have seen mr. CS say that he is going to expand the IP practice. CAM being one of the leading T1s, it should not be that big of an issue?
It will take a while for a practice to be established. Maybe 3-4 years to match in volume with SAM or KCO. If time is not an issue then certainly. The flip side being you may risk growth being stagnated in terms of variety of matters you're doing.
If you are in the mid level go for CAM as (1) growing IP practice and therefore you will have headroom to grow, and (2) pay is way better.
