Let no one convince you that Christ University is better in any aspect, especially if you're from Bangalore. I speak from experience—I’m from Bangalore and faced a similar dilemma. Back then, people kept pitching Christ as an "emerging" institution that would grow into a great law school over the years. Unfortunately, now that I’ve graduated, I can confidently say that Christ has only gone downhill.
At Christ, they don’t reimburse expenses for moots. Even if you win a moot on your own expenses, they take the prize money. There are no cultural or sports fest trips, and the crowd is average at best. My neighbour who was from Christ law was a top 10 from their batch, and didn't get place. It’s essentially a school operating under the guise of a law school.
Yes, SLSP’s faculty might be sub-par, but you’ll manage because everything else - majority of your peers, moot ADR opportunities, competition among people, visiting faculty lectures, fests and reputation is better. The real advantage of SLSP becomes apparent after you graduate. Law firms and employers place significant value on the Symbiosis name. They treat you better, offer more opportunities, and consider you for positions where Christ graduates often face outright rejection. The brand name becomes your gate pass to good law firms.
In short, and it's is gonna hurt many peoples ego but if you’re deciding between SLSP, Christ, Jindal, or an NLU outside the top 7, your best bet is SLSP. I cannot emphasize this enough.
