If the law firms don't milk you they can't make the insane profits that they do. You are a replaceable resource.
That said there will be a few rare exceptions and finding them and getting into such teams is extremely tough as they'll have very low attrition.

If you're okay with sacrificing money for work.life balance, there are ample opportunities but the dip in money would be substantial. As someone completing 5 years in the law firm environment - I sometimes wish I had never joined a law firm to begin with - you can't miss the money you never earned!
