How are the opportunities at JGLS more than the good NLUs? They hardly place 10% of their batch, there is very little quality control, inflated grades and huge batch size that ensures most of the students are parked off to young teachers with little to no teaching experience. JGLS may have got marquee names, but they also recruit literally anyone with a foreign LLM and that number is far bigger than the marquee teachers. The foreign summer/winter school programmes are easily available for people willing to pay additional huge sums of money, whether from JGLS or otherwise. The campus is in the middle of nowhere , with severe safety issues beyond its boundaries. The admin does no brook any dissent whether from faculty or students. Money and funding for research are literally the only things that keep the faculty there. A huge number of their students are far behind in quality compared to NLU students, whether reserved or unreserved category.

The biggest problem with average JGLS grads that people can spot very easily is their colossal sense of entitlement (not that all NLU grads are immune to it either) and the impression that is given to them (purportedly within the university) that they can get away with anything even if they don't put in any effort or work hard at all. This is not to say that exceptions don't exist at JGLS, but they sort of prove the rules. The lack of diversity among the student base does not help things either. When you put all of that together with the huge fees that they charge and the often downright unethical misrepresentations that they make in the name of PR and marketing, JGLS is very much never going to be the first choice for any good student if they are getting into any of the top 6-7 NLUs.

Drug culture exists in every Uni but JGLS has it a lot more. That being said, I've studied in Jindal and have never tried Alc or drugs, it's all the people whom you choose to associate with. Jindal can be the best uni if you focus and make use of it. It gives you the best of faculty, opportunities and infrastructure. If you can afford it, you can go for it. A lot of people term us as spoilt brats but they're the ones who are salty about not being able to afford it

I have never understood how JGLS is not at par with NLUs already. If we have a pros and cons list made of either. Yes fees is almost double, but the education facilities and opportunities at JGLS far outgrows by huge margins even if compared to the top tier 1 NLUs. JGLS graduates have been placed at tier 1 law firms in india consecutively for a good time now. On the other hand NLUs no longer host the best faculties in the country, taken by JGLS again. NLUs have reservation that too in huge nos, this creates a huge disparity in student quality, which again i agree is not great at JGLS either but if you're at the top of the batch you get the best quality everything. The campus itself is crazy good at JGLS as well. Not to mention the insane differences in partner universities JGLS has NO NLU can even compete with JGLS in this criteria. NLS itself doesn't have even a single decent partnership with any decent university abroad. Whereas JGLS has partners with ivy leagues and some of the best law schools abroad.

I think there's a gap in reasoning when it comes to people in LI. Logically speaking NLUs are great options no doubt atleast the tier 1s are. No one getting tier nlu should choose JGLS over it until and unless they just hate the one they're getting.

Even BITSLAW has started working like JGLS. Even though not as great as JGLS, they have done a great deal within a 2 year span. Definitely impossible for any NLU to tackle other Law Schools at the pace they have done it.

SLS Pune is a great choice too, they have a good alumni base too. Yes they do have certain problematic section of students but the education isnt that bad.

People point out at various occasions how JGLS and other Private Colleges have a drug culture. I think its not only JGLS its every other NLU as well. TIER 1 NLUs included. There's every other student scoring and drinking.
