Don't you think law is the most elitist profession of India; where people who come from humble background are often looked down upon. Where nepokids and people with contacts tend to excel over those who work hard in law school, and manage costs of internship by living in dingy PGs of Mumbai.

They're all nepo. Law is client-facing like management and contacts make a difference. In engineering, you are fine without cultural capital until you reach the management stage. That gives humble background people time to acquire the skills they need and they earn enough to do it.

Absolutely, but then the rags to riches story is what makes this life interesting. Pulling 75-hour work weeks and earning callbacks and exceptional praise at the end of your internships while your nepo colleagues struggle to draft basic affidavits or research basic prepositions is what makes your work worth it. Their Mercs/Audis seem dull and their Starbucks taste bland when they get intellectually challenged by someone who, in their eyes, shouldn't even stand anywhere near them.

There is no substitute for struggle, and diamonds are extracted from coal mines.

Still they will have their way by getting jobs through contacts in the end or rather do nothing and loll on family wealth. It's actually their way of telling u that ur efforts to look them down will never succeed, no matter how hard you try. You think you are smart, but the only one being mae a fool here is you.

I had the worst experience while interning at a so-called tier 1 firm. I am saying "so-called" because it doesn't pay anywhere near to other tier 1 firms. In my team, there were two other interns apart from me. Those two interns came through referal and were from shitty law school. Still, they were treated nicely and they were having upper hand compared to me. I was the one who pulled day and night to complete the work. Even after all this, associates passed their blames of silly mistaked towards me to discourage continuation of my internship. Later, they turned spiteful and startes disparaging and scolding me for no reason. I was the one facing all the heat for no reason. I belong to a lower middle class family. And my family sends me for internships after living in the hardship. My experience made feel that even after possessing all the qualifications I would not be able to achieve my aspiration because nepokids have an upperhand here. And the kids belonging from lower middle class faces a lot of difficulty in making their space even after undergoing a lot of hardships.
