The only firm above Trilegal is KCO now. I see in 5 years, Trilegal will beat KCO too.
Does this mean if anyone starts their law firms, there are chances that they can someday be as big or perhaps bigger than Amarchands?
I understand that we belittle Trilegal for its work culture and unending work hours but shouldn't we appreciate Trilegal founders for making it to Top 2 and beating SAM and CAM on the way?
A lot of people up top who are not servicing clients are still hogging the pie. Hence 3L needs laterals with books to balance deadweight which have come onboard or have been promoted.
Yet 3L ends up treating the laterals even those with books quite poorly in the end. Lots of insecurities amongst homegrown and lots resentment amongst junior equity partners.
The all equity model is increasingly a pyramid scheme. Junior partners are struggling and becoming executing partners. In hindsight this is exactly what they wanted in the lockstep model.
