It is with immense pleasure and confusion I have come here to ask your opinions on choosing between these 2 esteemed law universities, NLSIU and NLUD.
A little bit info about me, I dropped out nluo this year to retake clat and ailet and thankfully I cracked both. I am from East India (most people would call it north) and I always dreamt of NLSIU. But there is a new equation playing into this dilemma now, my gf could not get into nls (also her first choice) but got into nlud so now my NLS fanboy-ing era has come crossing down to rationality and I am rethinking my choice.
To weigh out some objective pros and cons, nls has much more hectic academics but also superior faculty quality and brand name compared to nlud. I primarily aim for corporate placements so historically nls would have been a better choice but given the increased batch size, both could fare not far behind each other. Nlud is closer to my home but that doesn't influence me much as I love bangalore city much more. Nlud has also scrapped off year-loss/detention policy so ye life at nlud most probably would be much more chill compared to Nlsiu. I plan to go abroad in future too but again in law firms only so NLS has edge there also I feel.
Now to the subjective part, I love my gf a lot, even tho we have started dating very recently I want us to last forever so ye :)

As someone who is in a t-1 college and considered retaking clat to make it to NLS some time ago- I just want to express how grateful I am that my luck(end-sem exams) didn't allow me to. Life in NLS is absolute hell IF you aren't someone who doesn't mind sacrificing their social life, burning the midnight oil year long, and be preached that law school isn't about corporate placements. NLS, in the name of academic rigour, can make your life absolute hell. But if you are absolutely sure you have the grit, then go ahead with it. Ultimately, it still is the best law school in the country. I won't talk abou the impact of increased batch sizes on academics and corporate placements here, there are ample threads on it.
NLUD on the other hand is a safer bet. Small batch, doing well academically, decent placements. It is a balanced t-1.

If CLAT 24 had done its job like what it did in prior years 20-23, bo29 of nlud would have been at nls bo29. Amd most of the current crop in Nls bo29 would have been at tier2s and 3s
