Do things like alumni networks, internships, or brand value of NLUs make that much of a difference? Or is it just a bias that has developed over time in the legal industry? Would love to hear your thoughts, especially if you’ve experienced or observed this difference firsthand.
Gopal shankarnarayana whom this site and NLS students are so fond of didn't became a senior because of his NLS degree but because he has the hand of K K Venugopal on his head.
It is about convenience honestly, firms know the top rankers go to top tier NLUs (not all NLUs have the so called NLU advantage) - so its easier for them to pick and choose from that crowd
Its like Non- IITians saying why do IIT students get such top notch placements!
If you are from non- nlu, rather than cribbing about the fact that NLU students have an advantage (which they deservingly get, ofc you are free to disagree), i would suggest you work hard on your CV and prove that you are worth it
I have seen some smartest of students being from non-nlus so dont think you cant achieve success like a NLU grad
