There might be slight differences at the higher level but every A0 is usually paid the same in T1, also any difference will not be substantial or deciding for you
They're all slogging off at work somewhere or the other.
I'd say it's 80-85% to what gen corp bros earn. The nature of work (unless it's dd) is worth settling for; competition is less; and you have great exit options for both in house and policy roles. Working hours is really a factor of the team/partner you work for.

Ex TMT guy here. Fixed is same, work hours are less compared to Gen Corp. Exception is if you are working on a transaction. Variable is lesser than Gen corporate but good enough to make you happy. 60% of what your peers in GC/PE make.
How much is the difference on an average when it comes to variable, is it sustainable to do TMT?
If sane work hours mean working 16 hours a day, then sure, go ahead.

I don't come from a rich ass background - money is a consideration for me
can someone please help - what about in terms of money - tmt v gen corp/m&a?
If that's the deciding factor, don't get into it
what about the pay difference - is there a lot of difference as you reach at the higher levels?
what are good teams with sane work hours on most days
