The fact that this is the response shows why India's higher education sector is, has been, and will continue to be, (largely) fucked.
So fascinating to see armchair online forum commenters demanding to know the value of somebody else's peer-reviewed doctoral thesis.
Do more appeal to authority. That’ll show how universities are totally producing and promoting the smartest people !
Nobody convinced by allat....what you wrote does not require a PhD study lmaoo
Yes . Clearly a study of sparks on train tracks would be useful. It worries me that you cannot see the difference between that and politics of smell in novels !
Quit the whataboutery. Stick to the uselessness of the thesis being discussed here.
By the same logic, you can also ask how do novels or literature help improve the world? Some things deserve to exist just because they give some people happiness without hurting others
The tragedy is that you can't seem to understand that English and Economics are indeed different subjects requiring different approaches and standards. By that logic, almost no law PhD is worth anything at all.
You don't get to decide the standard because you do not have the necessary qualification.
I bet he hasn't read a page of Scholastic work on Literature in his life, yet feels more than empowered to speak on this.
Has no one seen Parasite? I thought that captured how the serving class smells differently quite well. I am ashamed to say that I have also felt that at different points - people from certain classes do smell "different" sometimes.
