I am very curious about despite JSA paying lesser than other tier 1s or some tier 2s also, many people go on to work there for years!! Does it have some kind of work culture advantage or what?
I heard the Trilegal comp team that joined is getting much better pay.
When the bill share kicks in, it actually end up in a higher pay package than other T1s. There is also a sense of reward associated with longer hours etc. leading to less frustration and burn-out (comparatively). Attrition rates in some teams remain quite high
There is fair amount of attrition which is not disclosed
Other Tier 1 firms are not willing to hire from JSA
Yeah because they are coming themselves to JSA ;)
Is the competition team at JSA being paid at Trilegal standard?
Wait, does that mean JSA has two separate payscales for the competition team now? Ex-Trilegal and Old JSA? Can't be no?
Spoke to some co-interns.

Separate teams and different clients.

So separate scales and different rewards.

I would go KCO over JSA though.

Everyone is happier I hear and with better pay.
Whatever makes you sleep at night lil bro, all the rankings say otherwise
This issue is only with the bnf practice at JSA. Rest of the teams at JSA such as Corp M&A and competition pay very well.
Associate salaries are same at all corporate and finance teams what are you on
So you are saying that one has to remain an associate forever to get equal pay at JSA!
Which law firm in history has the exact same salary in all teams at all levels 🀣
This is not true. Some parts of the BnF team generates high revenue and also involved on prominent deals. They pay is at par with any T1. Of course some M&A teams do have higher bill share. But that’s true in most firms.
That;s not true. For e.g., a team that was recently poached from SAM is being paid higher than what they were making earlier.
13L (fixed) + 3L (bonus) + 3L (bill share)

This is for A0. You get the bill share after your 6 months of probation. Bill share is 3L at the upper end and 2L at the lower end.
Thanks.

1. What is probation at JSA? Whats the pay difference?

2. Do they offer PPOs to interns?

3. Which partners are more suited for PPOs?
Don’t spread lies. Which associate is getting bill share in the first year?
All associates are getting bill share after 6 months of probation. Looks like you are a disputes junior associate, don't be salty
Every fresher gets bill share after 6 months of joining post probation wdym
I literally joined at 13L this year after three internships here what do you mean kiddo
Could you explain the internship - PPO process and timelines at JSA?
I am literally a recent joinee, all the figures are accurate. Are you talking about Junior Associate offers, those are lower
Haha. All these comments with the word β€œliterally” have been made by the same person who is clearly not an associate!!!
I'm that person and I'm an Associate. I thought this buggy LI didn't post my comment the first time :) solved the mystery for you
B&F practice is one of the most sophisticated and highly paid practice of any firm even though the workload is bad. You must be an intern with those takes
This explains the high attrition at associate levels at JSA banking…
Only the ATU team has high attrition, there are other teams like Anish, Soumitra etc. stop parroting the same things
There is high attrition in almost every banking team in every law firm, this isn't a got you moment kiddo
Also, the bill share depends on team you are joining. If you are joining a high billing team, your pay will be equal to or greater than other T1 pay.
They are good, they have a lot of matters going on always
I would honestly take less pay for that new OLP office. All other firms look like sarkari offices in front of that
do you know such teams for banking? can you please share the partner names, if you know?
There are SA vacancies, you may try (non- ATU teams)
ATU Team partners do the best deals and therefore have better bill share.
Lower than tier-2 as well (not counting the rev share).
Because JSA is reputed and known for work life balance and more humane approach

Why people join Tata steel at a lesser salary than another private company paying more.

Quality of life makes all the difference
in what world does JSA have a better work life balance than others?
Stop trying to do negative PR. JSA is top of Tier 1.
