Do you solemnly agree to all of the above?
After my 12th in 2016, I had scored enough to get in GLC for 5 year LLB. But my parents forced me to go in engineering. Post my engineering, I completed my MBA from a top 10 BSchool in the country. Right now I work at one of the Big 4. But I am not happy with the work I am doing. I am getting a good amount of money, but I still feel very unsatisfied with my work. I was thinking to give NLSAT/MHCET next year and take admission for 3 year LLB. What will be my prospects there? Also, my age will be 26 when I start my LLB. So that will be one more disadvantage. I want to work with a Tier 1 law firm for a few years and then set up my own practice. I am particularly interested in constitutional law.
-do you think you can go through the cumbersome process of pursuing a degree again, considering you've gone through 6 years of post high school education? Law school can get pretty hectic at times
-do you think you can make terms with such a big paycut? you've graduated from a decent b-school, doing a decent job which would pay at par with t-1s if not more. 3 years of college with probably 0 income in late 20s, followed by uncertainty of a job and its pay, followed by your ultimate goal of making it in litigation, which even for those who start early requires on an average 8-10 years of perseverance with low pay.
-do you not find anything other than constitutional law interesting? Consti law's relevance in litigation is only for those few select lawyers who are either state attorneys or activist lawyers, the latter receiving no pay. Since you are already well-acquainted with the corp world, I do understand you might find corp law uninteresting. Read up other areas of law, maybe like criminal and IP laws and see if that's what you want to do. Consti law isn't something to pursue in litigation, you can only do that for academics. And again, if you choose to do anything other than corp law related work, whether in law firms or litigation, the pay would be meagre for a long run.
