Ikr don't feel like applying to firms anymore, it just feels pointless
life would be the same though. But yeah, better pay at least.
Bump! Similar situation, want to know does it ever get better ?
Just curious, you are in which firm, team and what is ur package?
Working for a T1, with the kind of money you make, your life is better than 99.9% of all the people in this profession. Quit whining and get back to work. No ones interested in your pity party
literally this. if you think your life is bad imagine being a 2024 graduate going to top NLU on a loan and then working in litigation because the economy and placements were absolute ass
There are many people who face the same stress and burnout without getting paid the same amount of money as a T1 associate
The stress levels are the same everywhere, tier 1s just pay better
Having spent 9 years in this profession, I can say with certainty that this is how it will be. Either adapt to it or explore other options. Work Life Balance seems to be this fashionable term which younger folks are using but it doesn’t exist in our profession.
Alright! But decent or comparable pay is something that is not fashionable right? Or will you blame it on the "younger" concepts of fairness and rationality too now?
Go ahead champ and just open a firm, pay 25 lacs to fresher (no discrimination there), pay 20% of fixed comp as bonus and ensure lights out at 6 pm and no laptop carrying to home. Bring in the change you want. All the best.
I dont think this comment was directed at you. That's another sub conversation from the looks of it and you just waded in.
Do you get Friday night(post 10:30) and either a Saturday OR Sunday free? Or not really? Is it a rare occurrence ?

I’m curious . This is addressed to everyone and the PA who has been working for 9 years at a T1.
Shame on your ilk. Even the incident of E&Y hasn't made any impact on people like you
You're born. You go to work. Then you die. That's life.
I think life has much more to offer than just work. And I do think quitting this job or profession even might be the best way out. While you might have made your peace with it, I would want to do better for myself. Cheers! :)
Keep dreaming in la la la land. I hope you quit and then find out the tough way how bad the employment situation is. Then you'd cry for thinking the grass is greener on the other side.
Thank you for your positive response. Apparently, my current team is considered the best among a difficult group. I will start actively looking for new roles, preferably outside of law firms. I don't think i am meant for this.
You sound depressed. Try to do an LLM or something. Maybe the change of scene will help.
Your advice is interesting and quite refreshing really. I think this is something that I can try. This is the first time I have come across such advice. Thank you so much for your time spent in reading this thread and sharing this unusual advice. :)
