I urge readers to shed some light on this matter. I find myself in a similar, if not worse, predicament. It's an incredibly draining experience, and I feel terrible.
However, as a fresher with only 5 months of PQE, I’m struggling to find recruiters willing to take me on. I worry that if I wait until I reach 1 year PQE, I’ll have no relevant M&A experience to transition to another role, especially since I’ve done more meaningful work as an intern than in my current position.
I'm seeking guidance on how to navigate my situation and transition into a genuine M&A team. I'm willing to switch firms for lower pay and longer hours if it means gaining valuable experience and working on real M&A tasks.
TLDR: A0 in an M&A team but am frustrated with my current role, which involves unrelated tasks like capital markets and litigation. I'm considering switching firms but struggle to find recruiters interested in my limited experience.
